The GIST: Most of Division I’s 31 conferences wrap play this week, making the battle for regular-season titles (and crucial conference tourney seeding) as tense as ever. It’s giving end-of-September NWSL.

  • The Big Ten’s j-chillin’ after finishing Sunday, and the tourney-less Pac-12 has over a week left on their docket, but for everyone else? This week is make-or-break. LFG.

The Big 12: No. 5 Texas Tech Red-Raided the Big 12, going undefeated in conference play to lock up the program’s first-ever regular-season title with Monday’s 1–0 road dub over Iowa State. Even better, they secured the No. 5 spot in the national tournament selection committee’s October 19th rankings. Program rebuild: complete.

The ACC: The No. 1 Florida State Seminoles have already earned at least a share of the regular-season title after crushing their way through the most competitive conference, winning all but one ACC matchup — a thrilling 3–3 draw at No. 3 UNC on September 24th.

  • Only an epic choke would keep them from snagging the ’ship outright: If FSU implodes vs. NC State tomorrow at 7 p.m. ET and No. 8 Clemson beats No. 11 Notre Dame an hour later, the ’Noles would split the title with Clemson. Unlikely, but stranger things have happened…

The SEC: It’s a similar scene for No. 10 Arkansas — they own at least a share of the SEC, and a win or draw against No. 21 Mississippi State tomorrow at 7:30 p.m. ET will lock it down. However, if Arkansas loses that match and No. 13 South Carolina beats Florida tomorrow at 7 p.m. ET, Arkansas and South Carolina will pull a Cady Heron and split the championship.

The mid-majors: A few non–Power Five conferences already crowned their champs (see No. 9 Memphis’ AAC slay and No. 14 Brown’s Ivy League domination), but others are coming down to the wire. Case in point? In the cutthroat Big East, No. 17 Xavier could catch Georgetown with a win over Marquette tomorrow at 7 p.m. ET.
