The GIST: The Eagles have hung up their helmets after an embarrassing 20–14 loss to the Washington Football Team yesterday. It may be January, but we’re leaving this season in 2020.

The GIST: We hope you didn’t burn through all of your quarantine activities, because, for the first time since 2008, we won’t be spending our January weekends watching the Patriots in the playoffs. Hey, at least we have the NFL offseason rumor mill to keep us busy.

The GIST: Despite their 35–16 loss to the Green Bay Packers last night, the Bears will still make their second playoff appearance in the last 10 seasons. Now that’s some 2021 magic.

The GIST: The NBA regular season started on Tuesday, just in time for Santa to make some last minute changes to his naughty or nice list.

The GIST: With a win in Sunday’s rematch against the LA Rams, the Seahawks could wrap up the NFC West title for the first time since 2016. If the win’s not on your wishlist, there’s still time to add it!

The GIST: Lots happening in the District. Danita Johnson broke barriers and Nationals’ home run hero Howie Kendrick hung up his cleats. Meanwhile, the Washington Football Team’s (WFT) off-field missteps took center stage, the Wizards opened their season and the Spirit made another trade. Phew.

The GIST: Chicago’s winter weather has us ready to sit on the couch and enjoy some basketball. Thankfully, the Bulls are back and the Northwestern Wildcats are living up to the hype.
