Olympics Day 11 Recap: Team USA
TEAM USA/TWITTER

🏒 Women’s hockey: Gold medal game, here we come. Team USA defeated Finland 4–1 in this morning’s semifinal, setting up the inevitable: a championship game tilt with Canada. Who else but Hilary Knight recorded a goal and an assist to help secure the dub.

  • Look out for a full breakdown ahead of Wednesday’s 11:10 p.m. ET matchup. Can’t wait.

🛷 Monobob: The U.S. finished one and two in the sport’s Olympic debut, with former Canadian star Kaillie Humphries winning gold and 37-year-old Elana Meyers Taylor claiming silver to become the (latest) oldest American woman to medal at the Winter Olympics. New fave sport alert.

💨 Speed skating: Erin Jackson made history over the weekend, winning 500m gold to become the first Black woman to medal in speed skating. ICYMI: Jackson nearly missed out on the Games after slipping during qualifying trials, but her teammate Brittany Bowe yielded her spot to allow world No. 1 Jackson to compete. Tears.

Figure skating: In their final Olympics, ice dancers Madison Hubbell and Zachary Donohue skated a personal best, bronze-winning performance, four years after finishing just off the podium in PyeongChang. Now that’s a curtain call.
