More chaos in NCAA baseball regional play
The GIST: Just like baseball’s regular-season chaos, this weekend’s regionals were jam-packed with upsets and down-to-the-wire triumphs. Five seeded and four unseeded squads went undefeated to sail through to next weekend’s Super Regionals, but the rest were a tumultuous mess, with seven regional winners still TBD later today.
The upsets: A stunning five seeded squads have already been ousted, including No. 6 Vanderbilt, No. 9 Miami, No. 11 Oklahoma State, and No. 13 Auburn. But the one who dropped our jaws to the floor? No. 4 Clemson, whose back-to-back one-run losses included Saturday’s 14-inning 6–5 nailbiter against Tennessee and a 3–2 heartbreaker to Charlotte yesterday.

Tulsanowhere to take Stillwater by storm, beating No. 11 Oklahoma State, Washington, and a stunning Dallas Baptist team in their surge to their second-ever Supers.
Today’s games: The Fayetteville and Baton Rouge regionals are still undecided due to weather delays, while five other regions saw gutsy wins force today’s winner-take-all games. Put TCU’s 3 p.m. ET rematch with No. 3 Arkansas atop your watchlist — they destroyed Arizona 12–4 Friday and Arkansas 20–5 yesterday, and show no signs of slowing down.
