Women’s: Despite suffering their first loss of the year to unranked Missouri last week, double-double machine Aliyah Boston and her No. 1 South Carolina Gamecocks retained the top spot in the latest AP Top 25 poll.
- Elsewhere, No. 11 UConn’s game against Villanova this Friday was canceled due to COVID-19 issues within the UConn program, marking the fourth straight virus-related cancellation for the Huskies this season. Who’s counting now?
Men’s: There’ve been plenty of upsets — most recently, No. 23 Wisconsin beat No. 3 Purdue — but three unbeaten teams remain, including defending champ No. 1 Baylor, who are currently on a 20-game (!!!) win streak dating back to last season. Sheesh.
- As for other undefeated teams, keep an eye on Player of the Year darkhorse David Roddy, who’s leading his Colorado State squad in scoring, rebounding and blocked shots. Three’s a party.
