The GIST: In a closely fought election, former USWNT player Cindy Parlow Cone was reelected as U.S. Soccer Federation (USSF) president. She won 52.9% of the weighted vote over Carlos Cordeiro. If that margin seems tight, that’s because it is — it’s the closest margin of victory in federation history.

The GIST: On Friday, in an effort to clean up its act balance the scales, the NCAA publicly outlined its updates to the women’s basketball tournament. The changes are in light of last year’s showcase of sexism which prompted the organization to undergo a gender equity review.
