Meet our Changemakers

We’re thrilled to shine a light on the CIBC x The GIST Champions of Ambition: Changemaker Spotlight winners, the leaders who are breaking barriers, inspiring their communities, and making a lasting impact in and beyond sport. Meet the incredible individuals whose stories embody ambition, resilience, and change in action.

Paige Crozon on her ambition

I wanted to bring my passion for sport and giving back to the community to create meaningful change.

Paige Crozon

CIBC is proud to champion Paige, a top-ranked FIBA player, mother, and founder of One Sky Sports. Through her Half Court Hoops program, she brings basketball and leadership training to rural, Indigenous, and underserved communities across Canada.

Jessie Vaseur and Casey Campbell on their ambition

The spaces provided are not fulfilling the potential they had, so we sprung into action to create that space and build a community under women’s sports.

Jessie Vasseur and Casey Campbell

CIBC is proud to spotlight and champion Jessie and Casey, co-founders of Her Game Toronto, a home for women’s sports fans. Since 2025, they’ve hosted free events celebrating women’s teams in hockey, soccer, and basketball, with a dream to one day open a women sports space in Toronto.

Fitriya Mohamed on her ambition

The barriers I encountered actually helped me create this basketball league, from not seeing people like me in these spaces.

Fitriya Mohamed

With CIBC’s commitment to championing ambitions on and off the court. Meet Fitriya, who founded the Muslim Women’s Summer Basketball League in Toronto. For over five years, she’s been uniting Muslim women and allies through leagues, tournaments, and leadership programs, with ambitions to grow across Ontario, Canada, and beyond.

Krista Richard on her ambition

What inspired me to start the program was seeing a need in the community and make sports accessible and available to all kids and families, so that they can just have fun again.

Krista Richards

With CIBC’s commitment to championing ambitions coast to coast to coast, we’re celebrating Krista, who runs a free, coed sports program for low-income and immigrant families in Moncton. Over 400 kids played last year, and also received clothing, food, equipment, and more, all in a safe and welcoming space.

Jessie Sindhu on her ambition

I realized how many Punjabi stories haven’t been told and with how ingrained Punjabi culture is in Canada, I wanted to help integrate that in.

Jessie Sidhu

Through the CIBC Champions of Ambition: Changemaker Spotlight, we’re celebrating Jessie, who tells stories where sports, identity, and culture meet. With her Punjabi Beats Collective, she’s amplifying diverse athletes, coaches, and creators — especially from South Asian communities.
